UNRWA school honors terrorist with sports tourney

“The Student Union Council and the Shabiba [Fatah youth] students’ movement at UNRWA’s Faculty of Educational Sciences has launched a football tournament under the name, 'The Shahid (Martyr) Abu Jihad Tournament.'"
[Ma’an News Agency, Feb. 16, 2010 and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 17, 2010]

Note: Abu Jihad was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization’s military wing and planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks, including the most lethal in Israeli history, the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
Following PMW's exposure of the tournament named after terrorist Abu Jihad, the official PA daily published UNRWA's denial that a such a tournament had been held at an UNRWA educational institution. [
