Fatah announces death of “heroic Martyr” rock thrower with “great honor and pride”; accuses Israel of “killing our young people and children”

A statement by the Fatah Movement – Ramallah and El-Bireh region

‘And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah, "They are dead." Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not’ [Quran, Sura 2:154, Sahih International translation]. Allah’s words are correct.

The Palestinian National Liberation Movement – Fatah announces the death of heroic Martyr (Shahid) Ayman Ahmed Othman Fares (i.e., Palestinian rioter who threw rocks at Israeli cars), who was shot by the occupation forces and died as a Martyr on the land of the town of Silwad. This criminal act that the enemy’s forces committed indicates this oppressive occupation’s criminal and lowly character. O masses of Palestine, the criminal acts of the occupation state and its settlers against the members of our people – which is carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) and resisting this barbaric force – are nothing but proof that this people is not stopping its struggle and resistance against this occupier until it passes from our land. And let the occupation know that its killing our young people and children and breaking into our cities do not frighten us, but only add to the determination of our people and its leadership to remove them once and for all…

This is a revolution until victory

Yasser Arafat – Founder of Fatah and former chairman of the PLO and PA. During the 1960s, 70s and 80s Arafat was behind numerous terror attacks against Israelis. Although he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 together with then Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and then Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Shimon Peres “for their efforts to create peace in the Middle East" after signing the Oslo Accords peace agreement, Arafat launched a 5-year terror campaign - the second Intifada (2000-2005) – in which more than 1,000 Israelis were murdered.
