PLO official in Lebanon: “We all reject the Zionist dream to establish greater Israel from the Euphrates [River] to the Nile [River];” Israel and US’ goal is “the elimination of the Palestinian cause”
“PLO Executive Committee member and General Observer of the Lebanese Arena Azzam Al-Ahmad met yesterday [July 2, 2019] with [Grand] Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian in the presence of Ambassador of Palestine in Lebanon Ashraf Dabbour.
Following the meeting, Al-Ahmad said in a statement: ‘…“Palestine is not for sale” – this statement has been prominent following the [Middle East peace] plan of [US President Donald] Trump and the American administration, and is on everyone's lips, including in the words of His Honor [Mufti Derian], and therefore we say: We have faith in Lebanon and its position that His Honor has expressed, which we have also heard from the senior Lebanese officials… and we emphasized to His Honor that the Palestinians will not accept an alternative to Palestine as a homeland for them. Palestine is the homeland of the Palestinians, Lebanon is the homeland of the Lebanese, and Jordan is the homeland of the Jordanians. It is true that we are one Arab nation, but we will not agree under any circumstances that the US, the American administration, and the extremist right-wing in Israel propose alternate slogans that diminish our Arab nation’s rights. We all reject the Zionist dream to establish greater Israel from the Euphrates [River] to the Nile [River].’
At a different time yesterday, Al-Ahmad met with Secretary-General of the Lebanese Communist Party Hanna Gharib, in the presence of Ambassador of Palestine in Lebanon Ashraf Dabbour and Secretary of the Fatah Movement and PLO Factions in Lebanon Fathi Abu Al-Aradat…
During the meeting the need to unify the Palestinian and Arab efforts in order to deal with the American-Israeli project – which strives to take control of the Arab nation’s resources and erase the Palestinian cause – was emphasized.
[The need for] coordination of the joint efforts between Fatah and the [Lebanese] Communist Party in order to deal with the American-Israeli plot – whose goal is the elimination of the Palestinian cause and the establishment of greater Israel at the expense of the rights of the Arabs and Palestinians – was emphasized.
Al-Ahmad also met with Head of the Popular Nasserist Organization Lebanese Parliament Member Osama Saad at the Embassy of Palestine in Lebanon…
Al-Ahmad emphasized the official and popular Palestinian position that rejects everything that is being plotted against our cause… and said that the Manama workshop (i.e., refers to US-led conference in Bahrain in June 2019 focusing on economic aspects of US President Donald Trump's as yet unpublished Middle East peace plan) is one of the components of the deal of the century (i.e., Trump’s Middle East peace plan) that the American administration is attempting to impose on the Palestinian people and the Arab nation, on the way to eliminating the Palestinian cause and establishing greater Israel according to the Zionist dream.”
Azzam Al-Ahmad also holds the following positions: Head of the PLO Department of Arab and Parliamentary Affairs, Fatah Central Committee member, Fatah Commissioner of National Relations (i.e., between Hamas and Fatah), and Fatah Commissioner for Relations with Lebanon.
