Abbas advisor: Carrying out Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a religious obligation for Muslims “in the shadow of the direct targeting of its sanctity and Islamicness” by Israel and the US

Headline: “Al-Habbash: Visiting the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a religious commandment and a political necessity”

“Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash said that ‘Visiting Jerusalem and carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque are a religious commandment and a political necessity, and even an obligation at this stage, in the shadow of the direct targeting of its sanctity and Islamicness by the occupation state and the American administration through fake and invalid decisions that will not change the historical and religious truth of the holy city [of Jerusalem].’

During a lecture that was organized by the Malaysian MyAQSA Institution – which supports the Palestinian cause and the cause of the Al-Aqsa Mosque – in cooperation with the Embassy of Palestine in Malaysia today, Thursday [June 13, 2019], Al-Habbash emphasized, that it is a religious and moral obligation for the Muslims to support Palestine and its people materially and with morale.”

Mahmoud Al-Habbash also serves as Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice.
