It’s summer again – when Palestinian summer camps are named after murderers

It’s summer again - when Palestinian summer camps are named after murderers.

Another camp organized by Fatah and the PLO - both of which are headed by PA Chairman Abbas - was named after terrorist murderer Dalal Mughrabi, who led the most lethal attack in Israel's history when she and other terrorists hijacked a bus and murdered 37 Israeli civilians, 12 of them children:

It’s summer again - when young Palestinians are taught in summer camps that terrorists and killers are their role models.

The participants at the Sisters of Dalal Summer Camp, which was held in Tulkarem, were female high schools students.

It’s summer again - when Fatah and PLO officials endorse such camps glorifying killers of Israelis.

The Sisters of Dalal Summer Camp was organized by the Tulkarem branch of the Fatah Movement’s Shabiba Youth Movement high school committees, with the support of the PLO Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs. Moreover, the participants in the camp met with PA officials at the PA National Security Forces regional command’s headquarters.

Several officials spoke at the meeting, including the district governor who delivered “greetings” from PA Chairman Abbas and his “blessings” for the organization of “activities... that strengthen the spirit of national belonging among our sons and daughters.” In his speech the governor specifically mentioned terrorist murderer Dalal Mughrabi and praised her “position in the struggle and the revolution”:
“Governor Abu Bakr conveyed [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas’ greetings to the female students participating in the summer camp, and his blessings for the organization of activities such as these that strengthen the spirit of national belonging among our sons and daughters, and particularly since this generation will bear the flag of construction and liberation. He pointed out Martyr Dalal Mughrabi’s position in the struggle and the revolution, which has been planted in the memory of every Palestinian, while recalling her death as a Martyr in 1978.”

Likewise, Fatah Secretary in Tulkarem Hamdan S’eifan, who was also at the meeting with the girls from the camp, “emphasized the importance of the summer camps’ message and their goals, through a strengthening of the national value system among the male and female campers.”

In his speech, Tulkarem District Governor Issam Abu Bakr also singled out Jibril Rajoub, who is the head of the PLO Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs. The governor praised Rajoub for his “efforts... to organize the summer camps.” PMW has reported extensively on Rajoub, and documented his praise for terrorists, including his sponsorship of a tennis tournament named after murderer Muhannad Halabi who murdered 2, and a  fencing tournament and a car race named after arch-terrorist Abu Jihad.

It’s summer again - when Palestinian Media Watch exposes these summer camps designed to brainwash Palestinian youth into thinking that using violence and terror to reach political goals is honorable. Last week, PMW documented three other such camps. At one of them, kids were taught to venerate arch-terrorists like Abu Jihad who orchestrated attacks in which 125 were killed and Ahmed Yassin, founder of the terrorist organization Hamas responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Israelis. A different camp taking place in Tubas was also named after terrorist murderer Dalal Mughrabi, while a third was named after Omar Abu Laila, a Palestinian who murdered 2 Israelis earlier this year.

The following is a longer excerpt of the report on the summer camp in Tulkarem named after terrorist murderer Dalal Mughrabi:

Headline: “The Tulkarem [district] governor visits the female students participating in the Sisters of Dalal Summer Camp”
