"Auschwitz is here in Palestine" says PA leader Jibril Rajoub

Jibril Rajoub: "Auschwitz is here... in Palestine"

Former Jordanian minister on official PA TV:

- "Israel is a racist state... rejecting the other in a Nazi, Hitlerian manner... [it] has outdone what Hitler did"

- Zionism "represents evil"

Former Jordanian minister:

• "Israel is a racist state... in the sense of rejecting the other in a Nazi, Hitlerian manner... This is a barbaric, racist state that has outdone what Hitler did. But the difference is that Hitler murdered many at once and in one period of time, while Israel is murdering the others slowly... with Western support"

• "The Arab states must understand that the Zionist danger is not limited only to Palestine, and that the Zionist ambitions are not limited to Palestine. This is a colonialist movement of occupation - greedy and insatiable"

• "The Arab states and the intellectuals must understand that standing side by side with the Palestinian people... is support for the security of their states and societies and the cordoning off of this evil that Zionism represents"

"Auschwitz is here in every city in Palestine," is the latest PA libel about Israel by a PA leader. Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub, interviewed on Kuwaiti TV worded it this way:

"Auschwitz is here in every city in Palestine because of [Israel's] systematic policy with barbaric and racist living conditions and conduct in order to cause physical and mental harm to these prisoners."

This is a repeating libel often voiced by Palestinians and Arabs stating that Israel is "worse than Hitler"  and "committing a Holocaust" against the Palestinians in general and against the terrorist prisoners in particular. 

The same libel was expressed by Former Jordanian Minister of Education and Advisor at Philadelphia University in Jordan Dr. Ibrahim Badran, who stated on official PA TV that Israel is a "racist state" that "rejects the other in a Nazi, Hitlerian manner" - in fact "has outdone what Hitler did." His statement went unchallenged by the PA TV interviewer. The former education minister expounded this description, stating that the difference between Hitler and Israel is that Hitler "murdered many at once" but Israel "is murdering the others slowly... with Western support": 

Former Jordanian Minister of Education and Advisor at Philadelphia University in Jordan Dr. Ibrahim Badran: "Israel is a racist state, not just discriminatory, but a racist [state]... in its political and ideological structure, in the sense of rejecting the other in a Nazi, Hitlerian manner - rejection whose goal is to destroy the other, to kill the other, and not just to take a negative position against him... This is a barbaric, racist state that has outdone what Hitler did."

Palestinian Media Watch has documented that a spokesman of Abbas' Fatah Movement has made similar accusations, stating "no regime in history - not Hitler, not the Nazis, not fascism - has implemented what Israel is implementing against the Palestinians." 

Rajoub too has voiced this libel a number of times. Protesting a US-led conference in Warsaw in February to discuss peace and security in the Middle East, Rajoub stated that "in every city in Palestine, from Rafah to Jenin, there is an Israeli Auschwitz to massacre Palestinians." The Jordanian ex-minister also warned all Arab states of "the Zionist danger," expressing another libel - that "colonialist" Israel/Zionism is plotting to overtake the entire Arab world. Only by supporting the Palestinian cause may the Arab states cordon off "this evil that Zionism represents": 

"The Arab states must understand that the Zionist danger is not limited only to Palestine, and that the Zionist ambitions are not limited to Palestine. This is a colonialist movement of occupation - greedy and insatiable... The Arab states and the intellectuals must understand that standing side by side with the Palestinian people... is support for the security of their states and societies and the cordoning off of this evil that Zionism represents."

PMW has documented statements by Jibril Rajoub at length, among them his support for terror against Israelis and his prohibition of "normalization" with Israelis.

Jibril Rajoub also holds the following positions: Head of the PLO Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA), Chairman of the Palestine Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Palestinian Scout Association (PSA). After Rajoub was suspended for one year in 2018 by FIFA, he blamed PMW for "waging a war on all fronts," and said PMW's director is "the Goebbels of the 21st Century."
