"Yesterday, Friday [Aug. 23, 2019], Supreme Shari'ah Judge of Palestine [and PA President Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor on Religious Affairs] Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash participated on behalf of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas as the head of an official Palestinian delegation in the inauguration of the largest mosque on the European continent – the Allah's Messenger Muhammad Mosque (i.e., the Prophet Muhammad Mosque) and Quran study center in the capital of Georgian Chechnya…

During the speech that he gave at the inauguration ceremony… Al-Habbash emphasized on behalf of President Abbas that the time has come for Jerusalem to be liberated, for the State of Palestine to be established, and for the flags of justice and truth to fly over the minarets of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He also added that every time Muslims dedicate a mosque they must remember that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is being held captive in the occupation's chains."

Mahmoud Al-Habbash also holds the role of Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice.
