PA Prime Minister to Human Rights Watch: “There will be no arrest or persecution of any citizen due to the exercise of freedom of expression”

“[PA] Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh emphasized that there will be no arrest or persecution of any citizen due to the exercise of freedom of expression, and indicated that freedom of expression is a sacred right for every citizen.

This was said during a meeting yesterday [July 26, 2019] in Ramallah with a Human Rights Watch organization delegation.

Shtayyeh said: ‘The [PA] government has guaranteed the citizens their right to freedom of expression out of constructive criticism, whether on social media or on websites or media outlets and the like.’”
