PA has a strategic plan to strengthen Palestinian presence in Area C

Official PA TV News, on Israel warning that it plans to destroy 15 illegal buildings in Al-Midya west of Ramallah, hosting The Committee to Resist Settlements and the Wall’s Legal Department Director Ayed Morrar

Official PA TV host: “Is there also a clear plan – forgive me for cutting you off – of The Committee to Resist Settlements and the Wall for [Palestinian] presence in the territories classified as Area C (i.e., land under full Israeli administration according to the Oslo Accords)? Currently we have actually begun a campaign in the territories classified as C.”

The Committee to Resist Settlements and the Wall’s Legal Department Director Ayed Morrar: “Long ago The Committee to Resist Settlements and the Wall adopted a style or strategy of advancing towards the territories that are called C, which are currently no longer called C – they are the land of Palestine-”

Host: “That name is no more.”

Ayed Morrar: “That name is no more. But even when the Palestinians still recognized or honored the signed agreements including [those regarding] Area C, The Committee to Resist Settlements and the Wall had adopted a strategic plan whose goal was to strengthen the Palestinian presence on the Palestinian land in Area C through working the land and strengthening the Palestinian presence, particularly in areas with low population density in that area. Currently I think there is more opportunity. The Israelis are using every- they are working in harmony in all of their institutions, whether on the political, legal, legislative, security, or financial level; we Palestinians also need to invest all efforts and work in harmony at the political, public, and financial level – and at all levels, also at the legal level – in order to strengthen the Palestinian presence and strengthen the Palestinian hold on the Palestinian land.”
