PLO prisoner's commission head: Imprisoned terrorists have the right ti organize in prison

Official PA TV News, on a rally supporting hunger striking prisoners, hosting Director of PLO Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs Qadri Abu Bakr

Director of PLO Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs Qadri Abu Bakr: “Apparently this step [of Israeli forces entering wings 19 and 20 of Ofer Prison] was taken after they received news that there is organizational coordination among [the prisoners] in the Negev and Ofer Prisons, or organizational management affiliated with the Fatah Movement organization. And they informed the officers; they told [the prisoners]: ‘You are running a Fatah organization.’ In other words, coordination between the senior prisoners to organize inside the prisons.”

Official PA TV newsreader: “And is that the prisoners’ right?”

Qadri Abu Bakr: “Of course, [it is] the prisoners’ right. And it is the right of the prisoners who want to coordinate their lives inside [the prisons] among themselves – therefore, this [entry of forces] is one of the means that they are implementing against the prisoners.”
