Guest on PA TV: “The Zionist project wants to uproot us, to put an end to our existence”
Official PA TV program Topic of the Day, on the 52nd anniversary of the Naksa, "the setback," a Palestinian term for Israel's victory in the 1967 Six Day War; hosting political analyst Abd Al-Majed Suwailam, B'Tselem Director of Field Investigations Karim Jubran, and Israeli affairs expert Muhammad Zaidan
Political analyst Abd Al-Majed Suwailam: "Listen, the real Israeli project – the real one – is that there not be any real existence for the Palestinians, to remove everything human from the Palestinians. This is the real project. But they have not succeeded. I will tell you something – they made a historical mistake when they left 150,000 Palestinians or 160,000 Palestinians in 1948. And now they are 'eating their heart out' in regret. We did not leave in 1948- in 1967. We did not leave. And those who did leave have mostly returned. And now-"
Official PA TV host: "Does Israel see this as a strategic danger?"
Abd Al-Majed Suwailam: "As a great danger, in my opinion. One of the commanders of the resistance, Al-Hakim (i.e., George Habbash, founder of the PFLP terror organization; see note below), may he rest in peace – you know what he said once? He said: 'You do not know and do not understand how radical the Zionist project is.' The Zionist project is more radical than we imagine. Sometimes we are harmed by people's goodness, by good intentions. The Zionist project does not know what a good intention is. The Zionist project wants to uproot us, to put an end to our existence, to put an end to our history, to put an end to our memories, to put an end to our identity, to put an end to our present, and to put an end to our future. This is the essence of the Zionist project.'"
