EU to carry out academic study of PA schoolbooks

Official PA TV newsreader: “The European Union (EU) said that it will not begin any study of the Palestinian [PA] curriculum, and that there is no study of the schoolbooks by the EU. The EU explained that there is an intent to carry out an academic study in order to present a comprehensive and objective analysis of the current Palestinian schoolbooks, and that this proposed independent academic study – if it is conducted – will aid in examining the books in accordance with the international criteria. The EU explained that it is in the planning [stage] of the study and that it will discuss it with international and local bodies, and that it might contribute to the quality of education for all the Palestinian students.”
