Abbas advisor: Ending the occupation will bring “world peace,” warns of "Judaization" and “desecrations” at holy sites which will lead to religious war

“Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine [and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice] Mahmoud Al-Habbash said that the end of the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine is the basis for realizing world peace and establishing the principles of love and peace between peoples and nations.
Al-Habbash emphasized during his statements that he made on behalf of the State of Palestine at the opening of the conference Islam in the Age of Globalization: Islamic Heritage and Intercultural Dialogue, which was held in Moscow and organized by the Russian Republic Shura Council of Muftis, with the participation of hundreds of religious leaders from all over the Islamic world, that the State of Palestine has throughout history been an example of coexistence between cultures and the faithful of the Abrahamic religions, who lived together and continue [to do so] without discrimination and in a state of brotherhood and love.
He emphasized that Jerusalem is suffering from the most despicable aggression in all of history by the Israeli occupation and its different branches against the Islamic place, culture, and heritage that make the character of the city unique…
Al-Habbash pointed out that most of the occupation state’s leaders today are attempting to change the conflict in Palestine from a political conflict and legitimate struggle to end the occupation into a religious conflict between Muslims and Jews, by increasing the pace of the Judaization of the Palestinian lands, especially in the cities of Jerusalem and Hebron, and increasing the organized break-ins into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza and its desecration, led by ministers and members of the occupation state parliament, and with clear support of the extremist right-wing government.
He emphasized that this step bears much danger and destruction and that much blood will be spilled throughout the world. He demanded that the states of the world prevent the occupation state from going in this direction – and if not, everyone will be burnt by the fire of the religious war and no one will be safe from it.
Al-Habbash said: ‘Our conflict with the occupation is a political conflict and a legitimate struggle against colonialism. It is a struggle over values, truth, and human justice, which the occupation state trampled when it occupied the country of Palestine, stole its land, and expelled its people to all corners of the earth.’”
