PA official condemns Muslims killing innocent Muslim “infidels” but asks Allah for “victory over the infidel people” – i.e., Israel
Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash: “The killing we are currently seeing is spreading through the nation of Islam. Picture this: The entire [Islamic] nation agreed that it is forbidden to kill an infidel because of his heresy. It is forbidden to kill an infidel [just] because he is an infidel. You are allowed to kill him or fight him if he fights, attacks you, and if he committed a crime that requires it. But you are forbidden to kill him just because he's an infidel. Prophet [Muhammad], Allah's blessing upon him… did not kill any infidel in Mecca because of his heresy, and when he took infidels captive he did not kill them because of their heresy, and he ransomed them… He did not kill infidels for their heresy, and did not kill non-Muslims for being non-Muslims. He lived with Jews in Medina, and established the Medina convention, the first constitutional document in history (sic.)! He lived with Jews and Christians, and all of the religions and peoples, under the flag of Islam – in the Islamic state, which is not a religious state in the sense that it is not solely for Muslims, but rather for everyone that lives in it… So why do we currently see that Muslims are being killed by Muslims? …
One of the Islamic scholars of our time said: 'The problem of members of the Islamic movements is that they declare [their opponents] infidels and allow [the spilling of] the blood of all those who don't agree with them’ – as if they are Islam and all of the others have no connection to Islam. This is a culture that if it is sown will become a disaster for its people too, also for those who sowed it and preached it…
What will they say tomorrow to Allah about all of those whom they misled, diverted from the straight path, and turned into tools of killing and death, those who blow themselves up among Muslims, among people – Muslims and non-Muslims, among peaceful, innocent people. What satanic culture is this that has been sown in their minds? Who gave them permission and the right to take these souls and kill these innocent people? But this is a result of culture, of education – stupid, ugly education, education that has caused people to accuse each other of heresy for insignificant reasons, and caused people to determine that others are traitors for no reason, perhaps because of political or other disagreements – immediately 'traitor,' infidel,' 'one who is misguided'…
But Allah's religion is clear as the sun – Allah's religion does not accept this. Those who have incited and sown the culture of killing, and established the path of accusation of heresy and treachery will bear the guilt for their actions before Allah. You will find that the reason – or the main reason – for every murder that occurs among us is the culture of killing, enlisting killing. Let us not forget those [from Hamas] who more than 10 years ago said that anyone who kills a Palestinian [PA] policeman, his rank in heaven will be according to the rank of the policeman or soldier. Have we forgotten this? …
Every person who is killed from our people, from our nation, by one of us – the guilt falls on the killer, on those that enlisted, on those that called for killing, on those that permitted this killing, and on those who established this ugly custom in this nation…
Allah, forgive us our sins and excesses, strengthen our resolve, and grant us victory over the infidel people… Allah liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the occupiers’ desecration, from the plots of the plotters, and from the oppression of the oppressors, and grant us secure and calm prayer there, with which we will seek to draw near to You."
