PA official: Occupation reason for global “tensions,” Al-Aqsa Mosque under “desecration” by “gangs of settlers”

Headline: “Palestine participated in the international conference ‘Islam – Message of Mercy and Peace, in Moscow’"

"The State of Palestine participated in the events of the international conference organized by the Muslim World League… called Islam – Message of Mercy and Peace, in the Russian capital of Moscow on March 28-30, 2019…

Supreme Shari'ah Judge of Palestine and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash… emphasized that the message of Islam has brought tolerance and peace based on justice, help for the downtrodden, and the return of rights to their owners.

He emphasized that spreading the principles of peace and tolerance among the peoples of the world requires the return of the stolen Palestinian rights to the land and holy sites by ending the Israeli occupation crouching over the Palestinian land and establishing an independent Palestinian state whose capital is holy Jerusalem.

He also noted that the continuation of this occupation and the Palestinian people remaining denied freedom are a main factor in the continuation of tensions throughout the world, and particularly within the Islamic world, which feels injustice due to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque remaining under siege by the occupation forces and the desecration of its sanctity morning and night through the daily invasions of the gangs of settlers. This is under protection by the occupation police and with direct support and participation of senior officials of the extremist right-wing government in the occupation state, such as ministers and members of what is called ‘the Israeli Parliament.'"

Mahmoud Al-Habbash also holds the position of Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice.

Break-in/Invasion/attack of Al-Aqsa Mosque - The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
