The gathering was held in cooperation with the Jdeira Association for Growth and Development, and with the participation of Minister of Women's Affairs Rabiha Dhiab, member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council Dimitry Dliani, and a great number of senior women from the region and Fatah activists.
Dliani delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of the woman's role in the struggle. He added that the Shahida (Martyr) commander Dalal Mughrabi served as a model for the scope of the sacrifice of the Palestinian woman, of her status in the present and in the history of the revolution, and of her ability to lead all forms of resistance and building. He also said that she [Mughrabi] had inscribed the meaning of sacrifice, leadership, and loyalty to the homeland, and had realized the meaning of the Fatah movement…"
Note: Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history in 1978, when she and other terrorists hijacked a bus and killed 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
