PLO official: UNRWA takes care of 6.2 million Palestinian refugees

“PLO Executive Committee member and Head of the [PLO] Department of Refugee Affairs Ahmad Abu Houli discussed accumulating political and financial support for the UNRWA agency (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) with South African Ambassador Ashraf Suleiman at the [PA] presidential headquarters in Ramallah yesterday [Oct. 3, 2019]…

Abu Houli expressed rejection of the targeting of the UNRWA agency’s activities in order to bring its role to an end by drying up its resources as a prelude to eliminating the refugees’ cause. He noted that UNRWA is a UN institute that deals with about 6.2 million Palestinian refugees, and has played an exceptional role in strengthening the peace and stability in the region.”
