"District Governor of Jerusalem Adnan Ghaith emphasized the Arabness of the holy city [of Jerusalem] and that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is Islamic with all of its parts and every grain of its earth, and that no one has any right to it except for Muslims. He also said that the mosque is one of the most important foundations of our just Palestinian cause, which we will not concede. He called on our Palestinian people, and mainly the residents of Jerusalem and Palestine that was occupied in 1948 (i.e., Israel), and also everyone who can come, to visit the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and stand against the plots against its existence and its structure, and to be regularly present there in order to thwart any attempt to harm it."
