Abbas’ spokesman: Israel responsible for "invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attacks against the worshippers”

Headline: "The [PA] presidential office held the Israeli government responsible for the settlers' ongoing invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque"

“Official [PA] Presidential Office Spokesman [and PA Deputy Prime Minister] Nabil Abu Rudeina warned against the continuation of the settlers' invasions of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and turning the conflict into a religious conflict.

Abu Rudeina said in a statement yesterday, Sunday [Oct. 20, 2019]: ‘We hold the Israeli government responsible for the invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attacks against the worshippers, which lead to an escalation of the situation and an increase in the tension in order to drag the region into the cycle of violence.'

He emphasized that the violations to which the Al-Aqsa Mosque is being subjected must be stopped, and emphasized that the repeated attacks by the occupation and its settlers are a red line about which we cannot be silent.

Abu Rudeina praised the resolve of our people in the face of the occupation's ongoing invasions and attacks against them."

Nabil Abu Rudeina also holds the positions of PA Minister of Information, Fatah Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Ideology, and Fatah Central Committee member.

Break-in/Invasion/attack of Al-Aqsa Mosque - The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
