Text on screen throughout discussion: "El-Sana: The Israeli authorities are working to strengthen the crime in the [Israeli] Arab sector."
Official PA TV host: "In addition to the strike [by the Israeli Arab sector over violence within it], there are also Israeli Parliament members who tomorrow [Oct. 3, 2019]- from the Joint [Arab] List who will boycott the opening session of the Israeli Parliament tomorrow in order to express their anger about the [Israeli] police’s conspiring in the murders. Is the Israeli police really conspiring in your opinion? What is your proof of this?"
High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel member Talab El-Sana: "My honorable brother, this step from the Joint List members is consistent with the trend- with the popular rage and of course with the decision of the Follow-Up Committee [for Arab Citizens of Israel,] of whose committee they are a part, which constitutes the leadership and uniting framework of the Palestinian public in the Interior (i.e., Israel). All of the studies have proven that the phenomenon of crime – the truth is, we are not talking about violence – began to significantly escalate; when? It clearly began following the Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Eruption (referring to July 2017 riots over security measures at the Temple Mount following a terror attack there; see note below –Ed.). The society, or the ruling authority in Israel, was surprised by the Palestinian response. [Israel] thought, mistakenly, that over dozens of years it had succeeded in creating an [Arab] society that is becoming Israeli, 'domesticated,' and trained. In other words, there was no response [from the Arabs in the Interior] when [then Israeli Opposition Leader Ariel] Sharon harmed the Al-Aqsa Mosque. However, when there was a collective response and coming out- and an emphasis of the Palestinian national affiliation, this establishment was surprised. Accordingly, there was a decision to break up the social fabric, harm the internal front, and keep the society busy with daily affairs. The Arab street was flooded with weapons and there was neglect or conspiracy by the police. We know full well that Israel has tremendous security capabilities. If it had known- Recently there was shooting towards the Ramle Prison; within 48 hours [the police] put their hand to it and caught three of the rioters, and two others fled to Romania. They reached them in less than a week. During a discussion with the police headquarters, they themselves confirmed- One of the questions I asked them was why, when the victim is Jewish, the crime is figured out and an arrest is made within a short time – and if the victim is Arab, the case is closed and remains pending?"
The mention of the "Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Eruption" refers to riots against Israeli security measures at the Temple Mount, including metal detectors at the entrances, following an attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israeli border police officers were murdered by 3 Israeli Arab terrorists. On July 24, 2017, Israel decided to remove the metal detectors and security cameras it had placed at the site. The PA continued to demand that all measures including inspections at the entrances be removed, and Palestinians continued to riot. On July 27, 2017, PA religious leaders declared that all Israeli measures had been removed.
