Preacher at Cave of Patriarchs: Site is “is an Islamic mosque that belongs only to the Muslims”

Headline: "15,000 worshippers held the first Friday prayers of the month of Ramadan at the Ibrahimi Mosque"

"More than 15,000 worshippers held the first Friday prayers of the blessed month of Ramadan at the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) in Hebron yesterday [May 10, 2019]…

The worshippers listened to a Friday sermon given by Ibrahimi Mosque preacher and Imam Muhammad Maher Maswadeh… who talked about the anniversary of the Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) that befell us at this time, and emphasized that we are the ones with the right to this blessed land, despite the occupation's attempts to empty the land of its legal owners.

He called on all of the citizens to hold their prayers at the Ibrahimi Mosque and not to stay away from it, as it is an Islamic mosque that belongs only to the Muslims, and nobody has a right to interfere in its [affairs] except for the Muslims."
