PA government condemns killing of Islamic Jihad terror leader as “organized terror”

Headline: "The Palestinian [PA] government's first response to the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip"

"Palestinian [PA] Government Spokesman Ibrahim Melhem responded to the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip (i.e., a targeted attack against terror leader Baha Abu Al-Ata; see note below), that has been continuing since the early morning of today (Tuesday) [Nov. 12, 2019].

Melhem said in an exclusive statement to [the independent Palestinian news agency] Donia Al-Watan: 'What Israel did constitutes organized terror, through which the occupation state is attempting to extricate itself from the crisis of establishing the next government.'

Melhem added: 'From the first moment, [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas has been in contact with all of the [Palestinians'] friends in the world in order to stop the escalating Israeli aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip.'"

Baha Abu Al-Ata – senior commander of the Islamic Jihad terror organization in Gaza who was responsible for most of the organization’s terror activity and planned numerous rocket, sniper, drone, and other attacks against Israel.Abu Al-Ata was assassinated in an Israeli targeted rocket strike on Nov. 12, 2019. In response to Israel’s assassination Palestinian Islamic Jihad fired over 450 rockets at Israel over a period of 48 hours until a ceasefire was reached on Nov. 14, 2019, which Islamic Jihad promptly breached by firing 5 more rockets.
