619 prisoners took matriculation exams in Israeli prisons in 2019

“The [PA] Ministry of Education’s matriculation exams committee yesterday [Nov. 14, 2019] announced the results of the matriculation exams of the prisoners in the occupation’s prisons for 2019…

The matriculation exams committee explained that the number of those sitting the exams was 619 prisoners from 11 different prisons, including six female prisoners, and the number of those who passed was 427, in other words 68.98%. The Ministry of Education and the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs conveyed their congratulations and esteem for our brave prisoners, and congratulated those who passed and their relatives on this accomplishment, which was accomplished despite all of the obstacles that the occupation places and through which it strives to deprive the prisoners of education and a dignified life.”
