Preacher on PA TV: Israel wants to empty Jerusalem of non-Jews, holy sites in danger, “eternal conflict” has not ended

Official PA TV, Friday sermon from a mosque in Hebron

Unnamed preacher: “Perhaps [US President Donald] Trump thought, in a moment of euphoria and the strengthening of his project, that the time had come to give gifts tothe thieving entityand that this would be imposed by establishing facts on the ground, as long as the world and the Middle East are immersed in their dire straits, and everyone has their own issue, and everyone is focused on what is dear to him, and with time they would be surprised by a Palestinian intifada from Jakarta [in Indonesia] to Rabat [in Morocco]…

They have the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration) and Trump's promise, and we have Almighty Allah's promise - and due to it, a strong people and a strong leadership. Thus the Arab peoples answered this crazy president, who disparages everything and does as he pleases. Trump has returned the cause – without intending to – to the center of the world's stage again. Despite this world being wounded, Baghdad has brought it to tears, Damascus saddens [it], Sana'a is in distress. However, the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem have remained the primary impetus in the eternal conflict that has not ended and will not end until the right returns to its owners, and 'a right that has someone demanding it will not be lost.'

And you, O Muslims: Jerusalem is our responsibility and yours first of all… What is required of all members of the nation is to give absolute support, political, financial, and moral support to the residents of Jerusalem and Palestine, in order to protect it from this wild war and the constant harm to the economy and the holy sites.Hence the call of Palestine's scholars that everyone who can visit Jerusalem, raise the morale of its residents, and support their economy should not delay. This visit is not normalization with the Jews, and not normalization with the thieving entity, nor normalization with the Israelis – but rather a visit to the imprisoned, to the victim, and not to the one imprisoning, as some claim…

They do not want to see an Arab or Muslim in Jerusalem. They want it clean of Muslims and Arabs. Therefore, we have called for more aid and help. We want you, O Muslims everywhere, to move from a position of condemnation and denouncement to the arenas of action and influence in the international arena, and to act in the language of interests and influence. Israel is still controlling everything and it continues in its evil and arrogant way. They want to invalidate our right, make our demand impossible, and turn our defense into terror…

Allah, forgive us our sins and excesses… and grant us victory over our enemies and the enemies of the Muslims, O Master of the Universe. Allah, grant us victory over those who have oppressed us and over those who have stolen our land, our Jerusalem, and the destination of our Prophet [Muhammad's] Night Journey… Forgive our fathers and mothers, and our descendants… Allah, release our prisoners and return them soon to their people healthy and whole, O Our Lord and Master."

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that "His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people." In 1922, the League of Nations adopted this and made the British Mandate "responsible for putting into effect the declaration," which led to the UN vote in favor of partitioning Mandatory Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state in 1947. In response, Britain ended its mandate on May 15, 1948, and the Palestinian Jews, who accepted the Partition Plan, declared the independent State of Israel. The Palestinian Arabs rejected the plan and together with 7 Arab states attacked Israel, in what is now known as Israel's War of Independence.
