Fatah official participates in setting Trump, Pompeo, and Netanyahu on fire on “Day of Rage”

Images and text posted on the official Fatah Facebook page

Posted text: “Burning pictures of [Israeli] occupation Prime Minister [Benjamin Netanyahu], US President [Donald Trump], and his Secretary of State [Mike Pompeo] during a protest procession in Nablus against the American steps.”

(Refers to Pompeo’s statement that the Israeli settlements in the West Bank are not inconsistent with international law; see note below –Ed.)

The images show masked activists in military uniform wearing yellow Fatah headbands and keffiyehs (Arab headdresses) burning three cardboard cutouts of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump, and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. In the audience near the burning of the cutouts is Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner of NGOs Dalal Salameh.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the US administration’s new position on Israeli towns in the West Bank on Nov. 18, 2019, stating: "After carefully studying all sides of the legal debate... the establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not, per se, inconsistent with international law."
