PA government spokesman: “No journalist will be imprisoned for their opinion”

“[PA] Government Spokesman Ibrahim Melhem emphasized that the government led by [PA Prime Minister] Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh will invest every possible effort into that which concerns creating an environment for more open and free media activity in Palestine, and promised that during the term of this government no journalist will be imprisoned for their opinion. Melhem said this during a roundtable meeting about ‘the journalistic freedom index and the ways to benefit from its results,’ which the PLO Diplomacy and Public Policy Department held, based on the index that was prepared by the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms – MADA.”
