PLO official: Prisoners aren’t terrorists, international law guarantees our “legitimate struggle”
Headline: “Abu Bakr: The occupation will not succeed in its attempts to define the Palestinian national struggle as a crime”
“Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs Qadri Abu Bakr said yesterday [April 21, 2019] that the occupation authorities will not succeed in their repeated attempts to define the struggles of the national prisoners’ movement as a crime and their ongoing racist effort to define our prisoners’ sacrifice as terror.
Abu Bakr emphasized that ‘The international laws and statutes have guaranteed our people the right to a legitimate struggle.’ He demanded that the UN, the [UN] Security Council, and all the international institutions stand by the prisoners and confront the extremist occupation state, which does not attribute significance to the international laws and statutes.”
