TV host: "Many people… asked what motivates a young Palestinian woman to tie herself to a prisoner who is serving [life]"…

Manar Khalawi, fiancée of terrorist prisoner Osama Al-Ashqar: "[Osama] is a human being, like the other 500 prisoners serving life sentences. They have their lives and their right to live normal lives. As for me, the motivation was [that] when I heard about Osama I was amazed by his personality. I was amazed that he is not at all a person who goes to prison and is sentenced to death, no. He has always been in touch with his surroundings outside [of prison], with the people outside. On the prison level, he is a commander and he has a personality. These matters were some of what drew me to him, which amazed me about him. In the end, I say to you that he is a human being – just like us!"

Osama Al-Ashqar - Palestinian terrorist and member of the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction) who sent terrorists to carry out the attack in Hermesh on Oct. 29, 2002, in which 3 Israelis were murdered, and the attack in Kibbutz Metzer on Nov. 11, 2002, in which 5 Israelis were murdered. He was also convicted of being responsible for dozens of shooting attacks in the Tulkarem area. Al-Ashqar is serving 8 life sentences and an additional 50 years.
