PLO official: It is “forbidden” to define the Palestinian “struggle” as terror

Headline: "Erekat: It is forbidden for anyone to describe our people's struggle as terror"

"PLO Executive Committee Secretary [and Fatah Central Committee member] Saeb Erekat emphasized that the Palestinian people's struggle is meant to achieve freedom, independence, and the end of the occupation, settlement, collective punishments, and war crimes, and it is forbidden for anyone and any party that relies on international law and the international bodies to describe this struggle as terrorErekat said this during his meeting yesterday, Wednesday [Jan. 8, 2020], with acting European Union (EU) Representative in Palestine Thomas Nicholson in his office in Jericho. The two sides discussed the commitments that the EU states are requesting regarding this matter from the Palestinian civil society institutions that depend on aid from these states (refers to newly imposed measures requiring Palestinian NGOs to cut ties with EU designated terror groups –Ed.)."

Saeb Erekat also holds the position of PLO Chief Negotiator.
