Fatah official supports China against US “imperialism,” denies Chinese persecution of Muslims

“Fatah Movement Central Committee member and [Fatah] Commissioner for Arab and China Relations AbbasZaki said that the People’s Republic of China is Fatah’s historical friend and the certain and permanent supporter of the Palestinian cause. He noted that China continues its unlimited support for Palestine on all levels.

During a conference that the Chinese representation in the State of Palestine organized yesterday [Jan. 15, 2020] in Ramallah… on the topic of The Question of the Chinese Xinjiang District (refers to an area of western China where the government has been cracking down on members of the Uyghur Muslim minority group –Ed.),Zaki emphasized that the State of Palestine stands alongside China against the pressures that the American administration is exerting. He emphasized that it ‘believes in peaceful coexistence in the world as opposed to the barbaric American imperialism.’ Zaki added: ‘After it failed in its trade war against China, the American administration is attempting to stir up internal instabilities within it by falsifying the facts regarding the Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang region.’ He emphasized that China is a strong state, and that it will become the strongest state in the world in the coming years.”
