Fatah official calls to cultivate within Palestinian students "the spirit of struggle and fighting," promotes Martyrdom

Posted text: “A speech condemning the deal of the century (i.e., refers to US President Donald Trump’s Middle East peace plan, which he presented with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Jan. 28, 2020) given by [Fatah Central Committee member] brother Tawfiq Tirawi during a meeting with the [Fatah] Movement associations and bureaus, Jan. 30, 2020”

Tawfiq Tirawi: "To the brother teachers, to brother [PA] Minister of Education [Marwan Awratani], and to brother [PA] Prime Minister [Muhammad Shtayyeh] – revise the Palestinian curricula. Our curricula are wrong and incorrect. We say to our teachers – do not rely only on the standard pattern of study with our students. Give them something outside of the curriculum on the topic of Palestine, Palestine’s leaders, and Palestine’s history! Cultivate within them the spirit of struggle and fighting, the spirits of affiliation [with the people and the land]! Give them the spirit of affiliation.

This is the responsibility of the home and the school. Many of our students do not know what affiliation is, do not know history and geography, do not know anything. You are the people primarily responsible for planting this spirit within our children and students…

I conclude my words with the following statement: Listen, young women and men. To live in humiliation is death; to die with honor is life. This is a revolution until victory, until victory, until victory.”
