Abbas vows to continue paying terrorist salaries, even if just “one penny is left”

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas: "I say to our Martyrs, our prisoners, and our wounded: Israel and the US have attempted to withhold our money that they collect… so that we would stop paying the prisoners, the wounded, and the Martyrs’ [families]. The prisoners, wounded, and Martyrs are the most sacred thing for us. By Allah, if one penny is left in our hands it will only be spent on the Martyrs, prisoners, and wounded.”

Abbas made these remarks in his first response to US President Trump’s revelation of his Middle East peace plan – the deal of the century – on Jan. 28, 2020. The full speech can be read here.
