In the same context, thousands of worshippers held the Friday dawn prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas on the eighth week of the Great Dawn Prayer activities (see note below –Ed.), while the men and women from Jerusalem and the Palestinian Interior that was occupied in 1948 carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict over land claimed to be Islamic) who were removed from the Al-Aqsa Mosque held the dawn prayer Al-Ghazali Plaza at the Lions' Gate."

Great Dawn Prayer campaign – campaign calling for mass dawn prayers to “support” Islamic holy sites and protest against US President Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan. It was initiated at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron in November 2019, and has spread to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and mosques in the West Bank and Gaza. The campaign began as a private initiative and has garnered official support including that of Fatah and Hamas, with Hamas calling on people throughout Gaza and the West Bank to participate in the campaign.
