PA op-ed attacks Trump, denies Jewish history, accuses Israel of spreading Coronavirus among Palestinians

Excerpt of an op-ed by Yahya Rabah, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “The silent murderer exposes the international system’s helplessness”
“The Coronavirus… will turn the international system into a victim, and foremost among it America…
This system created Israel at the beginning of the last century, and in the middle of the same century caused the greatest tragedy, the Palestinian tragedy…
[US] President Donald Trump is continuing in his barbaric way… when in a sort of obsession, mental disorder, and aggressive thought structure he gave Jerusalem to the occupying Israelis (refers to recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital; see note below –Ed.), who are lying to themselves when they say that they are not occupiers but rather are returning to their land. This is despite the fact that thousands of historical studies say that they are nothing but a complete lie (sic., historical research has conclusively proven the ancient Jewish connection to Israel).Look what this state of lies, Israel, is doing during the time of the Coronavirus: It is publishing false numbers, and at the same time is attempting to prevent the Palestinian leadership from recording an achievement against this silent enemy. It arrests [PA] Minister of Jerusalem Affairs [Fadi Al-Hadmi] (arrested April 3, 2020, for violating the Israeli ban on PA political activity in Jerusalem –Ed.) and beats him. It also arrests [PA] Jerusalem District Governor [Adnan Ghaith] (arrested April 5, 2020, for violating the same ban –Ed.) because he attempts together with the authorized teams in Jerusalem to save his people from the danger of the epidemic. It is going further and further in demolishing homes, killing Palestinians, and even infecting them with the virus.

US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel - On Dec. 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Trump added that the final borders of Jerusalem will be determined during negotiations. The US embassy was transferred from Tel Aviv and opened in Jerusalem on May 14, 2018, the anniversary of Israel's declaration of independence in 1948 according to the Gregorian calendar.
