PA daily editorial slams Hamas for coordinating with Israel due to Coronavirus

Excerpt of an editorial by the official PA daily

Headline: “Hamas and normalization”

“It appears that the Coronavirus has opened a new path to Hamas for coordination and normalization with the Israeli occupation, and it appears as if it wants exclusivity on this normalization because it has arrested a young person in Gaza on the pretext that he is in contact with Israelis for normalization purposes!

As part of Hamas’ normalization, Hamas has sent a number of doctors from the Gaza Strip to the Israeli hospitals so that they would train (!) [parentheses in source] in how to deal with the Coronavirus. This is while Israel is in need of those who will help it with this, and if not for the Palestinian Arab teams of doctors and male and female nurses inside the Green Line (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel; the Green Line is the ceasefire line between Israel and the neighboring Arab countries, 1949-1967) Israel’s situation vis-à-vis the Coronavirus would have been bad and bitter, as the Israeli press has admitted.

It is not surprising that Hamas is going ‘to cooperate’ with Israel against the Coronavirus at a time when it is not taking any steps in this field together with the PA and its government’s steps, which have undoubtedly exceeded the Israeli steps.”

Green Line - 1949-1967 ceasefire line between Israel and the neighboring Arab countries (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria) following Israel's War of Independence (1948-1949). Land within the Green Line is all part of the State of Israel since 1949. Land outside the Green Line includes East Jerusalem, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights.
