PA official: American hospital in Gaza Strip, with Hamas assistance, is like Quranic "harmful mosque", Israel wants to eliminate the Palestinians, based on "fables" of Jewish history

Official PA TV, Friday sermon from Ramallah by Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash. In the audience: Fatah Central Committee member, Fatah Commissioner of Mobilization and Organization in the West Bank, and PLO Central Council member Jamal Muhaisen and former National Direction Chief General Mazen Izz A-Din

Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "In this Sura [9:107] (describing how Islam’s Prophet Muhammad destroyed the Dirar Mosque in Medina due to suspicions it was built to undermine Islam –Ed.), Allah also spoke about the behavior of the hypocritical people at one of the events, at which they hid behind a religious guise and humanitarian guise, and a guise of doing good… Supreme Allah said: 'And [there are] those [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque' – see, a mosque in which people worship and read the Quran – 'And [there are] those [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief and division among the believers' [Quran, Sura 9:107, Sahih International translation] – all of these are descriptions of the mosque. Allah does not agree that His believers and those loyal to Him will be deceived by eye-catching scenes of any kind… as if he is saying to us and to the believers: Do not let yourselves be deceived by shiny slogans… What is the story of the mosque? …The hypocrites in Medina saw that the believers were congregating in two mosques… and that the nation was being run from these two mosques… and then one of the leaders, who had fled Medina in the past and joined the Byzantines, sent a letter to a group of the hypocrites and said: Build yourselves a mosque like the Kaaba Mosque… and meet there in secret, in other words, sit and plot there. On the outside this is a good thing, a mosque. They built a mosque… and went to Prophet [Muhammad] and said to him: O Messenger of Allah, we have built a mosque, and we wish you to come and open it for us. How nice! What honorable people! They built a mosque, and went to the Prophet, Allah's blessing upon him, so that he would come and open it. Is there anything better than this? … And then the following verses from the At-Tawbah Sura descended on the Prophet [from Heaven]: 'And [there are] those [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief' – in other words to anger and to attempt to divide them and to destroy… – 'and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger before' [Quran, Sura 9:107, Sahih International translation]. In other words, [it was] a cover and a place to gather, and a place to go out from, and an advanced bridgehead for 'whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, "We intended only the best"' [Quran, Sura 9:107-108, Sahih International translation]. …

And then the Prophet sent two of the Muslims and said: 'Go to this mosque, whose people are evil, burn it and destroy it.' And they went there, and burned and destroyed it. Of course the hypocritical media outlets would immediately begin to say: 'See, Muhammad is destroying the mosques, and preventing humanitarian activity.' At whose side will we stand: At the side of the path of Prophet Muhammad, or at the side of the path of the hypocrites?
The sights change with time, and the examples change. And I think that you know what I am about to say: Today we hear about the so-called 'American hospital in Gaza' – a hospital for 'harm and disbelief,' like the mosque for harm in the past.
Those responsible for it are - how nice - the Americans, those who want what is good for us… (The following is said ironically –Ed.) Those who did not provide Israel with precise smart missiles that kill our people in the Gaza Strip. The Americans who did not close the PLO offices in Washington… The Americans who did not kill hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. This hospital, they brought it from Syria, where they did acts of charity. They spread Da'wa (i.e., Islamic missionary activity) in Syria, and then they brought it to Gaza in order to continue the work of Da'wa. And the wonderful thing is that Hamas agrees, and not only agrees but accepts and cooperates on this! ... Do you know, gentlemen, that one of the conditions for the establishment of this destructive center in the northern Gaza Strip is that the sovereignty over the land of this hospital will be of the US? …
In other words, the land of the hospital will become American. And who will guard it from the east and west, and from the south? Those who are considered to be 'resistance'… The residents of the Gaza Strip know – Hamas watch towers and guard towers [were given] to the Americans, the Americans who did not come for a good reason…
Any cooperation with this matter is like cooperating with 'the mosque for harm'… Legitimizing this in any way is like legitimizing the 'mosque for harm,'
about which Allah commanded His blessed Prophet and the believers: 'Do not stand [for prayer] within it – ever' [Quran, Sura 9:108, Sahih International translation].

Our only enemy is the occupation, and those who stand with the occupation and those who support it. The compass of our enmity points only to it. However, when we talk about those who have acceded to being – intentionally or unintentionally – the occupation's bridgehead among us – then [enmity towards them] is a type of enmity against the occupation. The occupation’s basic goal is to eliminate the Palestinian people and end the Palestinian cause. Their big dream is that Palestine will become a land without a people, for a people without a land… They do everything for this, and in every way… but the focus of their aggression is centered today on two specific cities, clearly, and in a way that stems from outdated religious and historical fables – and nobody believes them any longer. These two cities are Jerusalem and Hebron…
This occupation attack – we must deal with it first of all, while united in word and deed; we will not sell Jerusalem and Hebron for a miserable hospital that will not benefit us in any way, and will not sell Jerusalem with its Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Hebron with its Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs), for an island floating in the sea opposite the Gaza Strip."
