Israel is foreign ruler to be defeated by Muslim conqueror - in PA music video

Itamar Marcus  |

The PA is yet again pretending it is the Jewish people. A music video broadcast on PA TV misrepresents 2000 years of Jewish struggle against foreign rulers who occupied the land of Israel which ended with the State of Israel being reestablished last century, as 2000 years of Palestinian struggle against foreign rulers. Israel is presented as the last “foreign ruler,” and will be defeated by Muslim forces, represented by Muslim conqueror Saladin. Jewish presence in the land of Israel is presented as the last in the chain of foreign rulers who will be removed when the land is liberated by Muslims.

The music video shows a woman dressed in white who represents "the Palestinians" experiencing the history of the land - replacing the Jewish people's actual history. The story begins in a period predating the Roman conquest of Judea and the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE. The woman runs away from four foreign invaders: an ancient Roman soldier, a Crusader, a British soldier, and finally a Jew.
In the final scene, the woman stops fleeing when a man on a horse - the "new" Muslim conqueror Saladin who defeated the Crusaders - extends his hand and helps her to the top of the hill. He represents the coming Muslim savior who will "liberate Palestine" from Jewish-Israeli rule.

Although, there was no Arab or Muslim people who ever identified as “Palestinians” until recently, the PA in its desperation to create a history in the land, often misrepresents Jewish history as Palestinian history. For example, although Jesus was a Jew living in Judea, a fundamental of PA ideology is that Jesus was a Palestinian who taught Islam. In this video, the Palestinians are presented as part of a continuous 2000 year struggle against different foreign occupiers that have taken over their “Palestine.” The message to Palestinians is that eventually they will be victorious and defeat the last foreign ruler – Israel.

This is not the first time that the PA has broadcast this video. PMW originally exposed this in 2012 and it has been broadcast hundreds of times since then.

This video echoes another of the PA’s core messages; that all of Israel is “Palestine” and will be defeated and “return to us.”

The same message, including a threat, was delivered by top PA religious official Mahmoud Al-Habbash who serves as Supreme Shari’ah Judge. He preached about the Quran’s “final promise” – which Palestinian Media Watch has exposed Al-Habbash interprets as referring to a future destruction of Israel:

Al-Habbash: “Netanyahu is boasting that he will never yield and that we are the ones who must yield on Jerusalem, the land, the sovereignty, [the refugees’] return, and the state, and that we will submit to the occupation and will have an entity that is less than a state.
However, we say the words of Almighty Allah in the aforementioned holy verse and His words in the seventh and 104th verses of the Al-Isra Sura (Quran 17:7 and 17:104) about the final promise, in which we will enter blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque as our noble ancestors entered the first time. Great Allah speaks truth and Netanyahu lies.”

The final (other) promise - The second half of Sura 17:7 of the Quran - “Then when the final promise came, [We sent your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the temple [in Jerusalem], as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction.” [Sahih International translation] - can be understood as either past or future tense due to the ambiguity of the Arabic "idha ja'a" referring to “the promise” that can be understood as “when it came” or “when it comes,” and the Arabic “al-ahera,” also referring to the promise, which can mean “other” or “final.” Many religious scholars understand it as past tense referring back to the destruction of the Second Temple. But some understand it as future tense, prophesizing some future destruction befalling the Jews. Al-Habbash presents it as prophesizing a final war in which Israel will be destroyed.

Similarly, a famous PA TV children’s host recently promised the end of Israel in yet another music video being broadcast these days by the PA. The video has more than 64,000 views on YouTube:

“Country of peace, land of religion
We lived happily and safely
I woke up and found that my country is occupied
They stole the land, they killed the dreams
They occupied the land (i.e., Israel's creation, 1948), they expelled our grandparents
Deal bye, deal bye, deal bye bye bye
Palestine (i.e., all Israel) is Arabian, free and proud
Jerusalem is ours O free nation
They imprisoned the heroes, they killed children
Deal bye, deal bye, deal bye bye bye
They told us ‘peace’ and what a peace
We do not accept this deal and we will not surrender
We resist, we defend to take it back…
Deal bye, deal bye, deal bye bye bye
O occupiers get out of my land get out
Deal bye, deal bye, deal bye bye bye
Palestine is Arabian, free and proud
Jerusalem is ours O free nation

With strong will and national unity
Deal bye, deal bye, deal bye bye bye
We get back our land, all of our land
And the occupation will disappear"

[Official PA TV Live, May 25, 2020]

Both videos serve as one of the PA’s tools to perpetuate the uncompromising stand that Israel will disappear and “Palestine” will be “liberated.”

The following is a longer excerpt of the text posted by Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash:

Posted text: “[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s arrogance today [May 28, 2020] in an interview with the right-wing paper Israel Hayom (see note below –Ed.) reminded me of those due to whom the second verse of the Al-Hashr Sura was revealed in the Quran: ‘It is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah; but [the decree of] Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts [so] they destroyed their houses by their [own] hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision’ [Quran 59:2, Sahih International translation].
Netanyahu is boasting that he will never yield and that we are the ones who must yield on Jerusalem, the land, the sovereignty, [the refugees’] return, and the state, and that we will submit to the occupation and will have an entity that is less than a state.

The mention of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s interview with the Israeli paper Israel Hayom on May 28, 2020 refers to an interview in which he said, among other things: “All the diplomatic plans proposed to us in the past asked us to concede swathes of the Land of Israel, return to the 1967 borders and divide Jerusalem. To take in [Palestinian] refugees. This is a reversal. We aren't the ones being forced to make concessions, rather the Palestinians are. Regardless of negotiations… [The Palestinians] need to acknowledge that we control security in all areas. If they consent to all this, then they will have an entity of their own that [US] President [Donald] Trump defines as a state. There are those who claim and – an American statesman told me: 'But Bibi, it won't be a state.' I told him, call it what you want.”

read as follows (Sahih International translation): “[And We said], ‘If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves.’ Then when the final promise came, [We sent your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the temple in Jerusalem, as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction” [Quran 17:7]. “And We said after Pharaoh to the Children of Israel, ‘Dwell in the land, and when there comes the promise of the Hereafter, We will bring you forth in [one] gathering’” [Quran 17:104].
