Syria's Assad encouraged by Abbas to return to "Pan-Arab role"

“Director-General of the PLO Political Department Anwar Abd Al-Hadi discussed the latest developments in the status of the region and the developments being experienced by the Palestinian arena and the challenges that it is facing with Syrian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal Mekdad yesterday [April 30, 2020].

At the beginning of the meeting, which was held at the [Syrian] Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Damascus, the capital of Syria, Abd Al-Hadi conveyed [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas’ greetings to Syrian President Bashar Assad,and his wishes that Syria be rid of terror and return to fulfilling its pan-Arab role soon.”
