PA religious leader refers to Jewish Temple as "the alleged Temple" and warns of Israeli plots to destroy Al-Aqsa

“Former Supreme Religious Justice and Chairman of the Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places, Sheikh Tayseer Rajab Al-Tamimi, warned of a plan by the occupation authorities… the so-called Jerusalem Municipality and extremist Jewish groups, to Judaize the Islamic neighborhood adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque… He emphasized that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a red line, and that Muslims are forbidden to remain silent in the face of steps to destroy it and to Judaize the city of Jerusalem, since it is part of the faith of the Muslim nation, according to a Divine command from beyond the seven firmaments… He called upon our Palestinian people wherever they are to come [to the Mosque] in order to pray in it, to halt the plots that are being hatched against it, and not to allow extremist Jewish groups, who seek to establish the alleged Temple in its place, to rule over it.”
