New libel: Israel carried out attack to provoke war
Lebanese snipers opened fire for no reason on Israeli soldiers who were within Israeli territory, and killed an Israeli officer. The UN corroborated Israel’s story. The PA media ignored the facts and chose to defend the unprovoked murder:
“What happened was a deliberate and pre-planned provocation [by Israel], whose aim was not just an exchange of fire, which may be contained. Israel is looking for a front for its next war. It needs this war in order to restore honor to its army and its deterrent power, following the failure it faced on board the Turkish ship Marmara. As usual, prior to its next war there must be military and media provocations."
