Senior Planner of murder of 11 Israelis athletes is one of the “great Shahids”
“The Prisoners’ Committee of the National and Islamic Forces, and the National Campaign to return the bodies of Shahids (Martyrs) and to discover the fate of those missing, emphasized progress on the path which the great Shahids of our Palestinian nation laid out for us with their blood. This was said as part of a speech delivered by Nash’at Al-Wahidi, information officer of the Prisoners’ Committee of the National and Islamic Forces and responsible for information in the National Campaign to return the bodies of Shahids and to discover the fate of those missing… Al-Wahidi said that [rank] fighter Amin Al-Hindi had joined the group of great Shahids, led by the President Shahid Yasser Arafat, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Omar Al-Qassem, Suleiman Al-Najjab, Haydar Abd A-Shafi, Fathi Shaqaqi, Samir Ghosheh, Abu Ali Mustafa, Khalil Al-Wazir [Abu Jihad], Salah Khalaf [Abu Iyad], Abu Al-Abbas, George Habash, Thabet Thabet, Hussein Abayat, Abd Al-Rahim Ahmad, and the leaders of national and Islamic activity who died as Shahids out of loyalty to Shahada [Death for Allah], to the prisoners, and to the Al-Aqsa [Mosque].”
Note: Amin Al-Hindi was one of the senior planners of the murder of 11 Israeli athletes in the Munich Olympics in 1972.
Among the other “Martyrs” mentioned were several other terrorists responsible for attacking and killing Israeli civilians:
Sheikh Ahmed Yassin - Founder and former head of the terrorist organization Hamas. The Hamas movement is responsible for numerous terror attacks and the deaths of hundreds of Israeli civilians.
Fathi Shaqaqi - Founder of the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad, which has carried out numerous terrorist attacks, killing hundreds of Israeli civilians.
Abu Ali Mustafa - Secretary-General of the terror organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which planned and carried out numerous terror attacks.
Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) - A founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. Headed the PLO terror organization’s military wing. Planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks, including the worst in Israeli history, the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
Abu Iyad (Salah Khalaf) - A founder of Fatah and head of the terror organization Black September. Attacks he planned included the murder of two American diplomats (March 1, 1973), as well as the murders of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics (Sept. 5, 1972).
Thabet Thabet - A founder of Tanzim (Fatah terror group) responsible for drive-by shooting and many other attacks during the terror war (“second Intifada”).
George Habash - Founder of the terror organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The PFLP planned and carried out numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians since its founding in 1967 and throughout the Palestinian terror campaign between 2000- 2005 (the Intifada).
Abu Al-Abbas headed the terror organization Palestinian Liberation Front. He planned the hijacking of an Italian cruise ship in 1985, in which one passenger was killed.
