PA official: PA will not recognize the Jewishness of Israel

“Advisor to the Prime Minister [Fayyad] on national affairs, Omar Al-Ghoul: ‘Netanyahu’s impossible conditions… come back to the policy of oppressive occupationist dictates. He still insists that the Palestinian authority recognize the Jewishness of the State of Israel – which would mean withholding civic rights from the Palestinians inside the Green Line [i.e., Arab Israeli citizens] and nullification of the right of return of the Palestinian refugees. This is something which the Palestinian leadership, and any Palestinian resident who believes in the peace option, does not accept.”
