Abbas criticizes Hamas for timing “operations” with negotiations with Israel

“He [PA Chairman Abbas] said that the recent shooting operations in the West Bank did not constitute resistance: ‘These operations are not operations of resistance. For why is it that resistance isn’t happening every day, and isn’t happening at all, except on the day we went to negotiations?! Why are they [Hamas] sitting quietly? Why did resistance become legitimate only today? Is resistance legitimate in the West Bank but not legitimate in Gaza?! ... We are against the launching of rockets, but why do they [Hamas] enforce law and order in Gaza, but refuse to enforce it in the West Bank?’”
