PA falsifies history, claims that Hebrew Biblical names of cities are falsification

Official PA TV News, on a Coronavirus conference attended by PA Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh and international organizations

PA Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh: “The most dangerous war… is the falsification of the narrative, the falsification of the narrative! Israel wants Al-Khalil (i.e., Hebron) to be Hebron, Nablus to be Shechem, and Al-Quds to be Jerusalem, and all the [Hebrew] names that falsify the Palestinian people’s history (sic., the Palestinians have no history prior to the modern period). Therefore, Al-Quds is not Jerusalem, Nablus is not Shechem, and Al-Khalil is not Hebron – these are all Palestinian lands, and the biblical names that Israel wants to attach to the Palestinian geography are in order to justify its colonialism over our land.

We must expose the disgrace of this falsification of Palestine’s historical narrative. If something is asked of the friends of Palestine it is: strengthen Palestine’s narrative and strengthen the solidarity with the Palestinian people.”
