Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa, with excuse of "natural collapse" from "aging, cracks, and earthquakes"

“[Secretary-General of the Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places, Dr. Hassan] Khater said that what [Home Front – Jerusalem region commander, Hen] Levi [sic] had said was more than just a statement to the press, and that it exposes the scope of the ominous Israeli preparations for the collapse of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, now that the occupation has included its occupation calculations the southern strip of the Mosque, adjacent to the Al-Buraq [Western Wall] plaza… especially since destroying this is an easier possibility than destroying the Dome of the Rock, which stands upon firm ground. This is in contrast to the older area of Al-Aqsa, the Marwani mosque and the library – where the lower floors are located, under occupation control – which are easy to destroy by various means, such as an artificially induced earthquake or the breaking of the sound barrier over them, using fighter planes…
Secretary-General of the Council rejected the possibility that these structures are in danger of natural collapse, and said that the studies carried out by Palestinian engineers inside Al-Aqsa and by experts from [the Ministry of] Religious Affairs show, with utmost professionalism and objectivity, that these structures are firm… However, the source of the [Palestinian] fear and concern is what lies behind these [Israeli] statements, and [the possibility] that the excuse of natural collapse as a result of aging, cracks, and earthquakes, will be used to cover the premeditated crime of destroying the Mosque.”
