Arab Israeli newpaper: The Zionist project, like America, is in decline and will fall

“Now the anniversary of the birth of Allah’s emissary is approaching; now the moon of the month of Rabi’a Al-Awal is shining upon us, with the [Arab] nation witnessing a new dawn, a dawn of escape from the despots and plunderers and oppressors… now the nation is at the pinnacle of the revolution of the oppressed and downtrodden in Tunisia and in Egypt.
People once thought that it would never be possible to contend with Abraha’s elephants, and that the Arab armies with their camels would not stand in their way. But Allah sent the small birds which carried small stones in their beaks, and two in their claws – and each such stone fell upon and killed a soldier or elephant of Abraha’s army.
And now there are the youth in Tunisia and in Egypt, contending with the security forces of the Ben-Ali and Mubarak regimes, without fear… These are the corrupt regimes which played the role of Abu Raghal [leader of Abraha’s troops] in the service of enemies of the homeland and the [Islamic] religion, and the Americans and the Israelis…
Is there any president who acted according to agreements with and dictates of America, leader of the West, like the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak? And is there anyone who resisted the Islamic trend more than he did?...
The birth of the Prophet in the year of the elephant was the beginning of the fall of the empires which then ruled the world, the Persian or Greek empire…
And now we, at this time, and on the birthday of Allah’s emissary, are watching the signs of the end of American rule and the fall of this rhinoceros…
We see this in the changes in Islamic societies and countries: Turkey and Iran before it, which were America’s great allies… and now Egypt and the blessed revolution against the regime of Mubarak, America’s greatest ally in the region…
And when speaking of the decline of the American empire and project in the region, what this means is the decline of the Zionist project as well, since it is connected to the American project as with an umbilical cord connecting a fetus to its mother."

Note: According to Muslim tradition, Muhammad was born in “the year of the elephant”. This name commemorates the Arab victory that year against Abraha Al-Ashram, the Christian ruler of a principality in Yemen, who marched on the Kaaba in Mecca with a huge army and many elephants. The elephant leading the expedition is said to have refused to enter Mecca. The attack was repulsed by the Arabs, with the aid of a flock of birds that flew overhead and pelted the Christian army with stones.
