“The language of murdering children is Zionist language par excellence”

“The Israeli sword has penetrated deeply into Palestinian blood. It has shattered the throats of children, even before those of the adults and the elderly. The hand of the Zionist executioner has not rested for a moment over long decades, throughout the years of the detestable conflict. The Israeli guillotine has not ceased to take innocent Palestinian lives, war after war, invasion after invasion… However, the noble Palestinian, owner of the land and of the rights, has always supported only the poems of Mahmoud Darwish… and has rejected the murder of children, no matter what the excuse or the reasoning. This is because children – even [children] of a Zionist father and mother in a colonialist settlement –are innocent and guiltless. Anyone who murders innocent childhood is a murderer. […]
A child is a child whom no one may harm, no matter what his identity or who his parents are, regardless of whether he lives in an old settlement or a newer one. On the contrary – everyone seeks protection of children and of defenseless and innocent civilians, even if they are from the enemy. Protection of children is not a favor that someone performs; it is a national, Arabic, human, legal and moral responsibility. Whoever murdered the children in the settlement of Itamar erred – whether it was a Zionist or a Palestinian. The language of murdering children is Zionist language par excellence, and it has no connection to Palestinians and their national culture. At the same time, whoever the murderer of the children in Itamar may be – he is a murderer.”

Note: The killing was of Udi and Ruth Fogel and three of their children - Yoav, 11, Elad, 4, and three-month old baby Hadas – who were murdered in the Israeli town of Itamar on March 11, 2011. Two Palestinian residents, Hakim Mazen Awad, 18, and Amjad Mahmad Awad, 19, of the neighboring Arab village of Awarta were arrested and confessed to the killings, providing detailed descriptions of their premeditated terror attack, and expressing no remorse.
