Fatah cartoon presents Israeli soldiers as killers with guns instead of heads
Cartoon posted on the official Fatah Facebook page
Text on cartoon: “The murder of young Ahmed Erekat” (i.e., terrorist, wounded 1)
The cartoon shows a uniformed Israeli security officer with an Israeli flag on his back and blood dripping from his hands. In place of the soldier’s head is a massive smoking revolver with drops dripping from the barrel, apparently meant to be saliva dripping from the soldier’s mouth indicating an animalistic bloodlust. The soldier is standing on a road, and in front of him is a bloody flower – symbolizing terrorist Ahmed Erekat - whose top has fallen to the ground creating a pool of blood after having been shot. Behind the flower is the Dome of the Rock, possibly indicating that the flower was protecting it.
Ahmed Erekat - Palestinian terrorist who wounded an Israeli border police officer in a car ramming attack at a security checkpoint near Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, on June 23, 2020. In defense, Israeli security personnel shot and killed him. Ahmed Erekat was a relative of PLO Executive Committee Secretary Saeb Erekat. The PLO claimed that the attack was an "accident" and that Erekat was killed by Israel "in cold blood." The attack was caught on security cameras, showing Erekat suddenly accelerating and swerving to hit the officer.
