Fatah spokesperson: Stop infighting and aim the weapons at Israel

“Fatah spokesman Osama Al-Qawasmi emphasized: ‘Resistance (i.e., PA euphemism for violence) is the Palestinian people’s legitimate right, for the purpose of liberation from the Israeli occupation and attainment of the goals of independence and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.’ In an announcement publicized yesterday by [Fatah’s] Office of Information and Culture, Al-Qawasmi said: ‘Resistance is a means of attaining overall national aims; its weapons and methods are subservient to a world-view with clear strategic and modifiable aims, in keeping with a unified national program and political aims, concerning which the people agree unanimously’… He demanded of the masses of our people to engrave in their consciousness the border between weapons for resistance [against Israel] and weapons of party powers (i.e., Fatah-Hamas fighting), which come at the expense of our people’s suffering.”
