“Yesterday, the Ministry of Prisoners’ Affairs began paying release grants to 1,212 released prisoners from the various districts of the homeland.
Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs, Issa Karake, said that the Ministry had paid $1,200,000 in grants to prisoners released during 2007, 2008 and part of 2009.
He said that the process of updating data on prisoners in the prisons is still continuing, in order to conclude the process of paying the addition to the salaries of the prisoners, which began in early April…
Karake emphasized that the addition to the salaries, as well as all of the Ministry’s services, are provided for all male and female prisoners with no discrimination based on place of residence or political affiliation.”
